Unique Food for the Soul

Monroe Regional Airport has opened Unique Food for the Soul restaurant in place of the former airport restaurant located in Building A. Monroe Regional Airport has been without a proper restaurant for two months. The airport community has ushered in Unique Food for the Soul restaurant and its owner, Ty Washington, with open arms.

“The restaurant has been a long time coming. I have been dreaming of owning and operating my own restaurant for as long as I can remember. I am truly blessed to have this opportunity to work with the Monroe Regional Airport,” says Washington. “It is a great honor to be able to offer some of my home cooking to all passengers traveling to and from Monroe, LA and surrounding areas.”

Unique Food for the Soul serves breakfast from 5 AM – 10 AM and lunch from 10 AM – 2 PM; Monday through Friday. Breakfast menu includes: pancakes, breakfast plates (grits/hash browns, eggs, toast/biscuit, your choice of meat), toaster sandwich, and cereal. Lunch menu ranges from ham and cheese sandwich, chicken wings baskets, nachos, hot dogs, and French fries/onion rings.

Menu favorites have already been established in the short time the restaurant has been open. “Our customers really enjoy the breakfast bacon, egg, and cheese toasters. The hamburger and chicken strip basket are a huge hit for the lunch crowd,” states Washington. “But keep an eye out for new menu selections.” Washington plans on adding plate lunches to the menu featuring foods such as fried chicken, greens, and cornbread.

Passengers and airport employees have responded well to Unique Food for the Soul restaurant.
