Bayou Room Airport Lounge Ribbon Cutting

The City of Monroe unveiled the newest upgrade to the Monroe Regional Airport. Monroe Mayor Jamie Mayo, Tom Janway - Public Works Director, Ron Phillips – Airport Director, Juanita Woods – City Council Member, and other City Officials gathered for a ribbon cutting announcing Bayou Room Airport Lounge. Bayou Room Airport Lounge is located within the airport terminal. The previous space housed vending machines and a coffee counter. The area was closed for a complete renovation in 2015.

On July 22, 2016, passengers received a first look at the newly renovated lounge. The new space offers a quiet relaxing environment for passengers as they wait to board their plane. Renovations include refrigerated drinks, comfortable seating, two flat-screen television sets, an aquarium, work stations and charging stations. Bayou Room Airport Lounge is decorated with original artwork by local photographer, Patty Stewart. The lounge is just one of the many enhancements to the Monroe Regional Airport created with the sole purpose of providing a positive and comforting experience for passengers.
